Racing Partnership

A racing partnerships is when a group of people all want to become owners and share in the costs of running a racehorse. The maximum number of joint owners is 12 and the maximum no of people in a racing partnership is 20.

There are so many different schemes that it can become very confusing. The bottom line is that you need at least two members to be registered owners. Once this is done you could draw up an agreement between yourselves and you can have as many friends sharing in the costs as you wish.

Weatherbys (Racing administrators for the industry) are really good at helping you through the process and will even guide you through filling out the Vat registration form. Vat is fully reclaimable and helps the industry survive.

If you don't want to do it yourself then a trainer will help you or you can go to a professionally run co-ownership organisers.
